Accessing Water Well Records

Retrieving Water Well Records with GeoWebFace

The EGLE (State of Michigan - Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy) Office of Oil, Gas, and Minerals has a website called GeoWebFace that was designed for viewing oil and gas well information, but can also be used to view water wells and retrieve water well records.    

Wellogic Well Records

  1. Open GeoWebFace GeoWebFace

  2. Zoom in to the desired location.

  3. Click the “Geology” box on the Layers Tool (left of the map)

  4. Click on the “Wellogic Water Wells” box.  The wells will show in green.

  5. Click the “Identify” button on the toolbar above the map.

  6. Click on the green dot.  Some basic information will display on the map and on the “Map Tools” tab.

  7. Click on the “WELLID” on the Map Tools tab left of the map.

  8. Click “open” to view the Wellogic well record.

To choose another well, close the window displayed on the map, and identify another green dot.

Scanned Well Records (1999 and older)

  1. Open GeoWebFace GeoWebFace

  2. Zoom in to the desired location.

  3. Click the “Geology” box on the Layers Tool (left of the map).

  4. Click on the “Scanned Water Well Logs by Section” box. 

  5. Click the “Identify” button on the toolbar above the map.

  6. Click on the section on the map.  Some basic information will display on the map and on the “Map Tools” tab.

  7. Click on the “Scanned: More Info” on the Map Tools tab left of the map.

  8. The records will automatically open for that section.

To choose another section, close the window displayed on the map, and click on another section.
