WIC Benefits to Remain Uninterrupted

Uninterrupted during “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order set in place by Governor Whitmer

In the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic, pregnant women, infants and children will not have their benefits interrupted –though there will be changes inthe appointment process. Your safety, and the safety of our staff is WIC’s top priority during the spread of the coronavirus. To protect everyone, for the time being, the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency will no longer be conducting in-office visits, but will only be operating visits by phone calls.

New certifications for newly pregnant women and newborn babies, as well as re-certifications will also be done over the phone. As always, clients are encouraged to access information about your appointments and benefits status at WICHealth.org. If you have any questions regarding your benefits, please do not hesitate to call our offices. Our staff is still working regular business hours to make sure that you still have access to your benefits and are able to answer your questions.

If you cannot find your WIC foods at your regular grocery store, use the WIC Connect mobile app to find another WIC grocery store nearby. In addition, if you cannot find your WIC infant formula in grocery stores, please call your local Branch-Hillsdale-St.Joseph Community Health Agency office and ask for help –it is not safe to make your own infant formula at home.

During this uncertain time, we value the importance of breastfeeding, and though we may not be able to meet in person, it is very important to us that you continue to get the breastfeeding support that you need. Our breastfeeding peers are still available by phone, please do not hesitate to call them for any breastfeeding needs you may have while the State is under the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order.
