MCIR
MCIR, as of June 2006,
represents the Michigan Care Improvement
Registry, an electronic registry accessible
by private and public providers. Adults as
well as children may receive immunizations
from multiple providers, who are unlikely to
have a means of otherwise sharing
immunization status information. Over-
and under immunization can occur, which is
costly. MCIR electronically monitors a
child’s immunization history as to current
status as long as providers efficiently
proceed with data entry. It also carries
blood lead testing status. Pertinent to
adults will be information regarding
Tetanus, Hepatitis, Pneumonia, and Influenza
immunizations as well as historical records
that providers may be able to enter for each
of their patients over 20.
Please visit the MCIR web site for more
information.
