Services:
The St. Joseph County COA
serves as the focal point for services and
activities for older adults. Please
feel free to contact the office via email or
telephone for a monthly schedule. Here
are some of the activities and opportunities
the senior center offers:

Education opportunities
-
Chore: help with
shoveling, lawn care, raking, etc.

Home Care Assistance:
help with bathing, dressing, shopping,
house cleaning, laundry, etc.

Respite Care: aide stays
with elder so caregiver can have free
time
-
Guest speakers on a
variety of topics: health, wellness,
legal matters, community events, and
many more!

Friendly Reassurance:
phone or in-home visit to provide
well-being and socialization to elders.

Music: playing
instruments, bands, and dancing
-
Home Repair/Maintenance:
fixing/preventing substandard conditions
-
Transportation: escort
services to doctor appointments,
dial-a-ride, and trips (day &
overnight)
-
Arts & Crafts:
painting, quilting and ceramics
-
Health & Wellness
workshops
-
Card playing & games
-
Home Delivered &
Congregate Meals: hot noontime meals
served at a community site or delivered
to a homebound client’s home. Sack
lunches, and frozen meals are available
for seniors who need food in the
evening, on weekends and holidays.
Liquid nutrition supplements are
available as prescribed by a physician.
All meals are sodium restricted, contain
at least 1/3 of the recommended dietary
allowances for seniors, and follow the
USDA food pyramid.

Assistance is provided on any senior
related topic including information on
Medicare/Medicaid and EPIC (Michigan's
prescription medication program)

Counseling services are confidential,
and can assist clients in living a
fuller, more satisfying life.
Eligibility:
Must be 60 years or older to
receive in-home services
